This popular evening course for adults will take you from no or hardly any machine sewing experience to confidently threading and using the sewing machine, sewing straight and curved pieces together neatly and putting in a zip. We provide all fabrics and the other bits you need to make a lined patchwork tote bag with an internal pocket and a cushion in the shape of an owl face. Bring your machine* or arrange to borrow one of ours.

*If you’re bringing your own machine, it must be in good working order. If you’re not sure, bring it into the shop at least a week before the class and we can check it out.

I have just taken this course; and it has given me much to consider. I really enjoyed the patchwork part, which has given me a desire to want to know more about how to quilt. Then, learning how to sew rounded pieces together without having to pin...great! Though we learned how to sew in a zip, there is much more that I want to learn about this. I learned a lot, and it was an enjoyable experience. One thing I know is that many more courses are on the cards for me. Thank you WSC for providing these courses.
